Betsy Schairer
Encaustic Wax Collages
Betsy Schairer is a Poulsbo, WA based encaustic artist and craftsperson. She studied Fiber Arts and Art Education at Western Washington University. Her work focuses on personal narrative with an emphasis on grief and loss using illustrative layered mixed media processes. Her love for found objects and fiber-based papers and textiles show as they are often embedded into her pieces. Her work is candid, expressive, and instinctive using vibrant colors and bold patterning. Betsy is currently a teaching artist at the Black Barn Fine Art Studio.
