John & Eileen Herrling

Turned Wood Bowls

John and Eileen Herrling are a team specializing in creating unique wood bowls and platters turned on a lathe. In business since 2018, they sell under the name Misty Hollow Woods at Front Street Gallery in Poulsbo, Made In Washington in Bellevue Square, Bellevue, and Fiddleheads in Port Angeles. Their work stands out from others and is in demand due to John’s exceptional design and turning skills and Eileen’s use of an intense finishing process using a high-quality beeswax, giving each piece a silky feel. They also create commissioned pieces including using a customer’s wood from their own property, if a more personalized bowl or platter with greater sentimental value is desired.
