Melissa McCanna

I am an artist inspired by the environment in which we live, its people and historical or current world events. My abstract and narrative paintings explore concepts of heritage and the illusory veil between the natural world and our manufactured world. My home in the Pacific Northwest, my Mexican heritage and societal issues are deep resources for my work. I use acrylic paint, paper, photos, water charts, and ink. I am a member of a robust artist’s community in Kitsap County, WA, and my work can be seen at Front Street Gallery in Poulsbo.
