Kathy Barrett

I work in blown and fused glass. Often, I combine both techniques in one piece. I began as a painter in the early 90’s and then was bitten by the glass bug. I like to have a whimsical and painterly quality in my glass pieces and love to experiment with color. As a scuba diver, many of my pieces are influenced by marine life. I began blowing, fusing, and lampworking glass in 2001, and since the closest public access glass studio was 75 miles away, I started my own tiny studio in Monterey California on Cannery Row a few months after my first classes in glass. I currently make glass in my tiny home garage studio in Bremerton Washington.
