Daera Dobbs

I am drawn to hand-dyed fabric and the world of surface design.  The endless possibilities of creating one-of-a-kind fabric feels right in my personal artistic journey.  Even more tantalizing are the opportunities for layering and embellishment in each unique composition as the fabric “speaks.” The camaraderie of working alongside gifted instructors and student artists makes the exploration even more gratifying.

The palettes of the natural world are my inspiration.  Having lived most of my life in rural Oregon and Washington, there is gorgeous scenery everywhere to draw upon.

As I get older, I have accumulated quite a stash of fabric and yarn and am happy to find ways to use them creatively in new work.
