#7 Rosie Creek Studio
I developed an appreciation of the history and artistry of leather as a young equestrian in Alaska. The constant need for care, cleaning, and repair of bridles, halters, and saddles exposed me to the intricacies of this versatile material. Over the course of 25 years practicing medical dermatology, I gained a unique perspective on the "flaws" in skin, recognizing them as the narrative of a life—a parallel to the stories held within a leather hide. Each scrape, cut, bug bite, tattoo, or brand becomes another chapter to be cherished. In my work, I occasionally incorporate these "flaws" as a celebration of life's journey.
For the past 12 years, I have dedicated myself to crafting leather goods in the tradition of durable and functional British leather craftsmanship. Every item created by Druschke Leatherworks is designed with a keen focus on the utilitarian aspects of the craft. Tanned full hides are carefully cut, skived, assembled, and meticulously saddle stitched. The result is a product that is not only built to endure but also thoughtfully designed to "wear-in," gaining character and beauty over time rather than "wearing out".
I hope you enjoy each piece you may purchase, knowing that it will accompany you through the years, gracefully aging, becoming a testament to the stories and experiences woven into its very fibers.
Thank you for embracing the artistry and craftsmanship of Druschke Leatherworks.
