After a long career building homes, cabinetry, and custom-made furniture, I’ve found myself drawn into the peaceful art of wood carving. My art is an exploration that emphasizes both form and function, hand carved from single pieces of wood.
Using local wood species and the hardwood inventory I’ve collected over my forty years of woodworking; I am constantly exploring the art of hand carving. Nature provides me with the inspiration for each piece. My work originated with a spoon, and now includes objects both abstract and functional. Each is carved and shaped from single pieces of wood, utilizing a combination of traditional and modern tools and techniques.
It is my desire to offer a unique perspective into hand carved artwork. On display at my studio will be over a hundred one of a kind works that I have carved over the past 18 months.
